Live and on sale!

Hey All,

Chromatic Aberration is now live and on sale.
See it on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/963900/Chromatic_Aberration/
And on Windows Store: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/p/chromatic-aberration/9nsp7q6fbhv5

It’s been a long 2 years in development. Further than that if you include the engine work involved with Bitsturbed. And it has been a fun ride.

So I hope you all enjoy. And Look forward to new things in the future!

Next!

So it’s been several months since the release of Bitsturbed. And since then work has continued on the miniFPS engine. Very much still a spare time project.

Myself and Scott (who does music for me) have a few ideas going forward. For now, a large game and a small one.

For reference, I aimed for Bitsturbed to be an hour long game for the average player. The next one, I’m hoping for a lot more. And the premise/theme behind it is going to be different to Bitsturbed in several ways, but ultimately the same feel and game-play. I originally intended for Bitsturbed to be more story driven, but ultimately felt the simplicity suited it well. On the other hand, I plan for this next game to have much more in the way of story.

And a smaller game, something I think will be a pretty cool idea. Essentially, what happens when a random game name generator gives you gold to work with 🙂

Exciting stuff for us!

Bitsturbed Full Release!

Hey All,

After roughly 2 years of development, and quite a number of months on GameJolt; v1.0.0 is good to go 🙂 Just scraping by my (personal) deadline of 2016!

It contains roughly an hour of ‘average speed’ gameplay if you are satisfied with a single play-through. As well as some new bug-fixes and other improvements.

I hope you all enjoy Bitsturbed! It’s been awesome making the game, building my own engine and seeing people enjoy the end result. It is my first ‘solo’ (thanks to Scott Hunter for his music and feedback) released game, with more to come!

Thanks everyone for your input, kind words and support. This game has laid a lot of groundwork for a number of other projects I’m now eager to get started on 🙂

So Enjoy!

To give it a try, feel free to download the latest update from GameJolt!

Cheers,
Tristan

PS: Development for Bitsturbed will now wind down, there are a few issues I want to continue investigating. But it is now dev complete and I’ll be starting work on the next game, something that has been exciting me for a while now while it’s been in pre-production 🙂

New Beta Demo

Hey All,

Another update is up and ready to go 🙂 I’d describe this one as a 3/4 update.

Like before, there are a number of bug-fixes and optimizations to make the game run as smooth and as trouble free as possible.

A brand new weapon. Which will be handy for the frantic 3 new levels, new enemy type and the new boss fight.

The update is a bit of a shift back to the familiar, plus a little more! And we are getting close to the completed product.

To give it a try, feel free to download the latest update from GameJolt!

Cheers,

Beta Demo for Bitsturbed!

Hey All,

Well, after a few months of work the Beta demo of Bitsturbed is now live!
Featuring 2 new weapons, nearly double the number of levels and a brand new set of enemies to fight.

I hope you all like the new enemies and areas, not quite the same so prepare for fights that are a bit more frantic 🙂 A little bit different. Watch out for the red-hat enemies, you’ll see why!

A few other new features, such as saving/loading with manual and auto-saves, more interesting AI for ranged enemies just to name a few.

A slew of bug fixes and some major work done on performance.

The game is still in development of course, and there is more to come in the future.

I hope you all enjoy! 😀

New Bitsturbed update!

Hey All,

A new release of Bitsturbed has just been released. Alpha version 0.0.4!
This release includes new content (2 new weapons, 2 new levels, 2 new enemy types and a few more surprises).

There are also a number of bugfixes and a few requested features. One example is weapon selection. It’s not just number keys, but also mouse wheel and auto-swap on pickup. But the major fix is for Intel GPUs that are now fully supported! Which will mean a major speed boost for people with integrated GPUs.

Much better integration with GameJolt client, prerequisites are now bundled with the game, and there is a single launcher that will handle all of this.

I hope you all enjoy 🙂 As I work on the next update, which will be Beta!

A week out in the wild!

Hey All,

It’s almost been a full week since the Alpha of Bitsturbed hit GameJolt. And since then it’s been incredible. For a small game essentially that is still in early dev it has received a lot of attention.

For those not in the know, after a few days on GameJolt, after the small flurry of the weekend had calmed down. Bitsturbed got featured on the front page of GameJolt! Since then I have received a lot of feedback and kind words. Overall the response has been very very positive. From comments and ratings, to Let’s Plays!

The next update is already in the works! Some requested features, some ideas I’ve had and the biggest request I’ve had so far! More 🙂 More weapons, move levels and more enemies.
